Legumes are a major source of iron. Iron deficiency is considered one of the most common forms of malnutrition and is one of the most common types of anemia. To improve iron absorption, it is therefore advisable to mix legumes with foods containing vitamin C (such as lemon juice). (FAO, 2020)

Did you know that

Although legumes contain a lot of fiber, they have a low glycemic index. They help stabilize blood sugar and insulin levels, making it suitable for diabetics and ideal for weight control.
