Fruit infused iced tea


Here is a refreshing drink made from fruit infused tea. Prepare well in advance to be ready just in time for a visit with friends!

Makes 1L of tea

125 mL (1/2 cup)          Water
125 mL (1/2 cup)          Granulated sugar
250 mL (1 cup)             Fresh strawberries, trimmed and chopped
250 mL (1 cup)             Fresh pineapple, trimmed and chopped
15 mL (1 Tbs)               Strawberry Balsamic
15 mL (1 Tbs)               peach Balsamic3 bags green tea
3L (12 cups)                 Hot water
1L (4 cups)                   Ice cubes
Fresh pineapple and strawberries for garnish



  1. Place the water, sugar, strawberries, pineapple, and balsamic in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a low simmer, over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
  2. Steep tea bags in hot water and cool to room temperature. Once cooled to room temperature, add ice.
  3. If desired, strain the fruits into the tea and stir to combine.
  4. Fill serving glasses with ice and pour in the iced tea. Garnish glasses with fresh strawberries and pineapple before serving.
